Dardanelle & Russellville 9 is a 2-6-0 Ten Wheeler built on October 1884. On 1904 the locomotive's boiler was rebuilt for a new wagon top boiler. On 1917 the locomotive was sold to Birmingham Rail & Locomotive Co., a surplus equipment dealer. On the 1950's the locomotive had a little accident suffering a tube damage and was rebuilt by the Missouri Pacific. On 1963, the locomotive was sold to the Dardanelle & Russellville and renumbered as D&R 9 by Elliott Donnelley of North Freedom. The locomotive was donated to the Mid-Continent Railway museum by Elliott Donnelley in 1969. The locomotive did more runs on the 1960's and the 1970's.[1] The locomotive returned to service on 1991 for once and a while. As of 2024 the locomotive is on static display all rusty looking and it is unlikely to return to service.[2][3][4]
