Dan Grieve

Dan Grieve (born 17 August 1978) is a PGA Professional Golf Coach, based in England, best known for his short game expertise.

He was born in York and started playing golf as a young child, following in the footsteps of his father Michael, a low handicap golfer and his Grandfather, Charles Grieve, who as well as being a British & Irish Lions hero, was also a +2 handicap at The Royal and Ancient Golf Club of St Andrews.He was a junior member at Thorne Golf Club and then Selby Golf Club where he later became an Assistant Professional in 2000 after completing his Business degree.After achieving Trainee of the Year honours with the PGA in 2002 for his coaching he was invited to coach alongside Butch Harmon at the Red Bull Masterclass at The Belfry.He moved to Woburn Golf Club in 2006 as Professional and became Head Professional in 2018[1]. He went on to have success coaching Tour Professionals as well as Amateur golfers.He developed a global reputation for his short game coaching and his DG Short Game School is one of the most attended golf school's in the world.In recent years he has developed a large following on Social Media with over 375,000 followers on Instagram and 100,000 on You Tube. His channels often show Dan coaching in a live situation at Woburn Golf Club and in 2023 his videos achieved over 50 million views.Dan coached You Tube Golf Coach, Rick Shiels in 2023 and the video of his lesson achieved over 1.5 million views[2].He is sponsored by Taylor Made and Adidas. In January 2024 he was invited by Adidas to Hawaii to the Sentry Tournament on the PGA Tour where he made video content with Collin Morikowa[3] and Ludvig Aberg

Honours edit

He was recognised by the PGA in 2023 for his services to coaching by being made an Advanced Fellow of the PGA. Golf Monthly recognised he is one of the Top-50 Coaches in the UK[4].

Tour Coach edit

He has had considerable success coaching Tour Players[5], male and female. His most notable success was coaching Charley Hull from the age of 15 as she turned Professional and began her career with five 2nd place finishes in a row on the Ladies European Tour. She went on to win the 2016 LPGA Tour Championship[6]. He coached Georgia Hall from 2015-2019 which included her winning the 2018 Women's British Open [7] and reaching a world ranking high of 7.

Coach to Celebrities edit

He coaches many celebrities including John Terry, Dan Walker, Judy Murray, Jos Buttler, Stuart Broad, Sir Alistair Cook, Rick Shiels, Sir Clive Woodward and Oliver Phelps.

Author edit

He published his first book in September 2022[8], 3 Releases:The Short Game System, and it went on to become an International Best-Selling golf book on Amazon. The book was Number-1 in the Golf Chart in the UK, USA and Australia and has now been translated into German, French, Italian and Japanese.
