Cully Alton Cobb (born February 25, 1884, Giles County, Tennessee - 1975)[1] was an American philanthropist.

In 1908 he received his degree from Mississippi State University, though it was referred to as Mississippi A & M College at that time.[2] He married his second wife, Lois P. Dowdle, in 1934. Together, the couple traveled extensively in the Near East and Europe and were notable philanthropists.[3] The couple's interest in the Near East coupled with their philanthropic nature and Cobb's loyalty to Mississippi State led them to provide the funds for the Cobb Institute of Archaeology in June 1971.
