Close-Up is the tenth studio album by alto saxophonist David Sanborn. It was released in June 1988 by Reprise Records, a then-recently reactivated sub-label of Warner Bros. Records, making it his last LP for Warner Bros. before moving to Elektra, also a WEA label.

Reception

edit

Scott Yanow of AllMusic stated, "the music fits the formula well, offering Sanborn's emotional sax backed by then-modern electronics and funky rhythms, all of it designed for maximum radio airplay. Sanborn's recording is worthier than most of the output by his many imitators, but one senses that even he knew he could do much better."[1]
