Cissy Nalumansi.[1] is a Ugandan Writer, Producer and Director. She is known for her work on Sanyu,[2] as a writer, Namuddu,[3] as a Writer, Producer and Director, Mama and Me,[4] as a Writer, Kela,[5] as a Director. Borders,[6] as a Writer, Produced by Daphne Ampire. She owns a Film Production Company Called Mpologoma Media.
Life and background
editNalumansi was born at Aunt Verick Maternity ward in Kitoro, Entebbe to Mr. Kayanja Duncan and Miss SafinaNabiranda. She is the second last born of 5 children.
Education
editNalumansi attained her primary education from Bwaise Parents School. She went on to join Crown High School, Nabweru which was later transitioned into Avance International University[7] She attained her Bachelor's degree in Information Technology from Makerere University [8] She received her film making training from Multichoice Talent Factory [9]
Career
editHer Writing, Producing and Directing career started when she was selected to participate in a fully paid film training at the Multichoice Talent Factory,[10] where she was trained by film industry professionals. After graduation, she went to Lagos Nigeria, where she did an internship at DSTV, Nigeria. Promises, a film that she collaborated on as Music Composer and Production Manager, also won an award at The Africa magic Viewers Choice Awards in Nigeria [11]
She returned to Uganda to run her film company called Jungle Rains Productions, where she wrote, Produced and Directed her Feature Film, Namuddu[12] and a short film, Kela. [13]
Awards and nominations
editHer film, Namuddu, was nominated at Kalasha Film Festival [14]. It was also nominated at Janzi Awards [15]
