Christopher S. Ogilvy is an American neurosurgeon. He serves as the Director of Endovascular and Operative Neurovascular Surgery at the Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center’s Brain Aneurysm Institute and a Professor of Neurosurgery at Harvard Medical School.[1]
Education and Career
editOgilvy received a Bachelor of Science degree in Biology from Yale University. He then graduated from the Geisel School of Medicine at Dartmouth, completing his neurosurgery residency at the Massachusetts General Hospital in 1991.[2][3] Following completion of an endovascular surgical fellowship at the State University of New York at Buffalo School of Medicine,[4] he was named the first incumbent of the Robert G. and Jean A. Ojemann Professor of Neurosurgery at Harvard Medical School.[5]
In 1994, Ogilvy co-founded the Brain Aneurysm Foundation, which currently comprises a multidisciplinary advisory board team from leading universities and research institutes, raising awareness of and supporting research into brain aneurysms.[6][7]
Ogilvy has authored over 500 peer-reviewed articles.[8]
