Childe Internationale (1987)Is a play written by a Nigerian playwright,poet, and author Wole Soyinka. The play is about the clash of the western and African cultures in a family. Mr Kotun an African political who sent his daughter titi aboard to further her education comes back with a different character and behaving rudely to her father. His wife who takes sides of the daughter ended up being the person who discipline her.[1]

plot edit

The play is set in Nigeria. Mr kotun an African politician who is prepared to go for his party meeting as he was about to eat the food, the food looked staged. He is then informed about the arrival of his daughter who doesn’t like native food.[2]

Titi comes back raising alarm when she arrives, she greets her mother but ignores her father. Out of our frustration she is forced her father.

This continued, and he keep himself from disciplining her his choice but instead of him scolding her mother did the disciplining to her.

Production edit

During the Maron drama festival 2022 hosted Chevron, the childe internationale by performed on stage. It was directed by Julius Obende[3][4][5]
