Submission declined on 20 November 2023 by DoubleGrazing (talk). This submission's references do not show that the subject qualifies for a Wikipedia article—that is, they do not show significant coverage (not just passing mentions) about the subject in published, reliable, secondary sources that are independent of the subject (see the guidelines on the notability of websites). Before any resubmission, additional references meeting these criteria should be added (see technical help and learn about mistakes to avoid when addressing this issue). If no additional references exist, the subject is not suitable for Wikipedia. |
- Comment: With the exception of the Beyond the joke, the sources provide only passing (or no) mentions, which does not establish notability per WP:GNG. DoubleGrazing (talk) 11:41, 20 November 2023 (UTC)

The podcast takes inspiration from morning TV and radio shows and therefore has various features including: celebrity interviews, TV reviews, the weather, and phone-in's for example asking people how rich their grandad is.
Celebrity guests edit
The podcast has featured interviews with celebrities, many of which are then picked up by online news websites, including: Ricky Gervais, Katherine Ryan, Martin Freeman, Joe Lycett, Susie Dent, James Acaster, Ed Gamble, Paul Chowdhry, Rob Beckett, Josh Widdecombe, Steve Davis, Sue Johnston, Alistair Campbell, Lol Tolhurst and Armando Iannucci.

This has included a Red Arrows pilot, an RNLI volunteer, a Brink's-Mat robbery expert, Michael Jackson's bodyguard, a former gangster, a wingwalker, a prison officer, and a former prisoner.
Surprise Guests edit
Each time David and Joe take it in turns to face their back to camera and a surprise guest joins the call. The person with their back to the camera does not know who the person is going to be. Surprise guests have been both celebrities and people who Joe and David know personally. They have included: Lee Mack, Harry Hill, Tim Vine, Dermot O'Leary, Greg James, and James O'Brien.
Regular Guests edit
Chatabix has a series of long running returning guests including: Joe Stoddart (TV Reviewer), Vyvyan Almond (Weather), Rosie Francis (Comedian), Paul Gorton (show off), Natalie Cassidy and Andy Goldstein (snooker).
Canal Thursday edit
Canal Thursday's is a series where David and Joe set about purchasing a canal boat and living on it. The original episodes were about buying a canal boat and the admin involved. Thereafter it became an improv series with different people playing fictional characters including: John Kearns, Greg McHugh, Alistair Green, Anna Crilly, Seb Cardinal, Alex Lowe, Robert Popper, and Julia Davis.
Where's Joe/David now? edit
Joe or David are in a secret location somewhere in the world and the other person guesses until they need to be told. Locations have included: Venice, Devil's Dyke, Giants Causeway, Widecombe in the Moor.
Joe's Playlist edit
Music producer Steve Baker picks 3 songs for Joe to listen to. If Joe likes them they go on his "playlist". David guesses from his facial expression if he likes the song without hearing it.
Background edit
Chatabix began in March 2021 with David and Joe who had previously made the podcast Gossipmongers together. In the first episode of Gossipmongers David mentions wanting a start a podcast called Chatterbox "where people just chat". During 2021 David and Joe had 3 different podcast at the same time including Chatabix, Gossipmongers, and My New Football Club.
David and Joe record the podcast over Zoom as they live in different areas of the country. However, even on occasions where they are staying in the same house or hotel they choose to record the podcast in separate rooms over Zoom. Originally they only used the free version of Zoom and the episodes would conclude when the time ran out.
Originally David and Joe would create all parts of the podcast themselves. David would edit and upload the podcast, with them both organising guests. Joe created the original logo. As of 2022 they have a editor and uploader (James) and Joe's wife Petra organises guests to appear on the podcast. In 2023 Chatabix signed with podcast production company Keep It Light Media.[1]
Accolades edit
Chatabix has previously reached number 1 in Apple Podcasts charts[2]. The podcast was nominated for a National Comedy Award in 2022[3]
Music edit
David and Joe created and released the single Cup for the Cupboard in November 2022 as an England World Cup anthem to coincide with with the 2022 World Cup in Qatar. [4][5]. The song has been streamed over 20,000 times on Spotify and Youtube.
In February 2023 they released the album Chatabangers which contains songs and jingles used on the podcast. In June 2023 they released a second album entitled Chatabangers 2 with new songs and jingles.
