Carl Skau
Carl Skau (born 1976) is a Swedish diplomat with a distinguished career in Sweden's Ministry for Foreign Affairs. He is currently Chief Operating officer and Deputy Executive Director at the largest UN organ WFP.
Early Life and Education
Carl Skau was born in 1976 in Borensberg, Sweden. Skau holds a bachelor’s degree in social science, and a master’s degree in political science, both from Lund University, Sweden.
Career
Skau began his diplomatic career at Sweden's Ministry for Foreign Affairs in 2001. Throughout his career, he has held various positions, primarily dealing with peace and security issues as well as human rights.
Posts
Prior to his role at WFP, he has served as Ambassador and Deputy Representative to the United Nations in New York and as Deputy Representative to the European Union Political and Security Committee in Brussels, in addition to previous postings for the European Union and the United Nations in Africa and in Latin America.

Carl Skau is married to his wife Lisa Orrenius where they have three children. In addition to his native Swedish, he is fluent in English and Spanish.
