Caleb Alloway (born January 9, 1986), better known by the stage name William Zannis, is an Australian actor,[1] music composer,[2] producer best known for Home and Away (2017),[3][4] The Osiris Child (2016) and Janet King (2014).
Early life and education
editAlloway was born on 9 January 1986 in Ipswich, Australia, one of twelve children of Peter Alloway and Lynne-Maree Tarrant. His brother Ben Alloway, is a UFC fighter. He attended Newtown High School of the Performing arts before moving on to Actors Center Australia and 16th Street Studios. [citation needed]
Career
editIn 2011, Alloway starred in The History Boys directed by Jesse Peach, John Wood (blue healers) Heather Mitchell and James Mackay at Sydney Opera House.[5]
Alloway has starred in several films such as, Nine Network's Underbelly: Razor (2011) and played the guest role of Sergeant Dreyfus on the ABC series Janet King (2014).[6]
In 2015, he appeared as David in the documentary shock Room 1.
In 2016, Alloway joined the cast of film, The Osiris Child:Science Fiction Volume One, where he played Sectretary Miller alongside Rachael Griffiths and Daniel Macpherson. He played theatre including, Crimes of the Heart.[7][8]
In 2018, he played Sebastian in Simon Phillips' of Shakespeare's Twelfth Night at the MTC.[9]
His stage credits include The History Boys (Sydney Opera House), The Paris Letter (Darlinghurst Theatre Company) and Tony Kushner's 8-hour play Angels in America[10] in Melbourne with Luckey Productions and 45 Downstairs. Alloway attained AMusA and CMusA in piano and Grade 5 trumpet. He has also written and produced songs for Cheeky Tunes TV including Jingle Bells,[11] Halloween[12] and The Wheels on the Bus[13] (Halloween).
