Bright Komla Kpoha (born March 24, 1998 ) is a Ghanaian artist. He is best known for creating hyper realistic drawings.

Working primarily with pen and pencil on paper, Bright displays a touch of gymnastics, dancing, jumping, etc to transform his subject onto paper..[1]

Early Life

Bright Komla Kpoha (Realpen Pencil) was born at Akatsi in the Volta region of Ghana but grew up in Lome, Togo. He lost his parents at age 2, He is a self-taught artist who discovered his talent at age 7.

In 2012, he was invited by the Togolese president, Faure Essonzinna Gnassingbe after he made a portrait for him.[2]

Education

He started his primary education at Ecole Marie Auxiliatrice D’Ablogame in Lomé, Togo where he took the second prized artist in Togo’s National Art Competition at age 11. He continued his craft in Ghana and won the 2019 Ghana Art and Culture Art competition[3]

Career

During the launch of My Transition Hour, a book written by the former President of Nigeria, Goodluck Jonathan as part of his 61st birthday at Transcrorp Hilton, Abuja, Realpen Pencil did a live drawing of Ex-President Goodluck Jonathan from a billboard.[4]

As a sign of respect to the former UN Secretary General Kofi Annan, Bright paid his last tribute through his artwork.
