Billy Gets Grounded is an American web series created by Kolin Hildebrand. It debuted on December 13, 2017. In every episode, the boy Billy Chris 'Spunkygal' causes trouble at school and home and gets grounded. It is inspired by fan-made series created using Vyond with characters that get grounded. The series ended on January 12, 2021 because Kolin was getting tired of making grounded videos.
Kolin considered the series "for comedy purposes" to avoid Community Guidelines strikes and avoid trouble for negative content.[1]

The series revolves about a boy, Billy Chris Spunkygal who causes trouble in each episode, and at the end of every episode he gets grounded.
Creator edit
The creator is Kolin Hildebrand, a boy who was obsessed with watching Vyond videos, that are "grounded and bad behavior" videos. These videos are also known as 'X Gets Grounded' where a character does something illegal and gets grounded by his parents.[2]
He creates and voices the series using Toontastic on his iPad. He is also known as Colors 358 on YouTube. His YouTube channel got 22 million views as of November 2023.[1] His most viewed video was the episode "Billy's 2nd punishment day". It got 331K views.[3]

Since 2019, Kolin also made "Kindergarten Billy Gets Grounded", set when Billy was at kindergarten, that debuted on August 6, 2019.[4] In 2018, Kolin made the episode "Billy brings an inappropriate movie to school" that he didn't feel like posting it, but was uploaded later in December 3, 2019.[5]
The series ended in January 2021 because Kolin was getting tired of making grounded videos all the time.
In 2022, he made another grounded series, Nestor Gets Grounded.

The series started after Kolin uploaded the intro for the series on YouTube, which he haven't showed in any of the episodes. The intro features Billy's dad chasing him.[6] When season 16 began, Kolin announced that it would be the last season of the show.[citation needed] After the show ended, a fan-made reboot series was created, 'Billy Gets Grounded Continuation' which debuted on January 23, 2021, 11 days after the cancellation and created by Teal The Phineas and Ferb Fan.[7]

- Billy is a boy with red hair, red t-shirt, blue shorts and red shoes. Billy usually misbehaves, refuses to listen to his parents, misbehaves at school and in every episode gets grounded. Billy also has a deep fear of file alarms. He is also obsessed with the alphabet according to one episode. He is also the antagonist of the show.
- Molly is a girl with orange hair, burgundy dress and black shoes, and she is Billy's sister. Unlike Billy, she is usually a good girl, behaves well and listen to her parents.
- Olivia is a girl with brown hair, purple t-shirt, green pants and pink shoes. She is Billy's second sister, who was born in the episode "Billy calls his new baby sister a "prostitute" / grounded" where Billy calls her a prostitute instead of Olivia.
- Ladonna has blonde hair, a flower on her head, a red necklace, a red purse, a grey t-shirt with a lighting, blue pants and red boots. She is the mother of the three children, but she isn't a great mother because gives her son bad punishments.
- Robin has black hair, red shirt and blue shoes. He is the father of the three children, but a bad parent too for his ideas on punishments.

- Derrick is a brown animal with purple glasses and a teal dress with an apple on it. She is Billy's elementary school teacher, who teaches Billy's class and the detention room.
- Punky is black with a purple hairband, pink t-shirt with a liliac star, a liliac skirt and liliac shoes. She is a classmate of Billy, who once fighted at school and sent to detention.
- Judy has a ponytail with bangs, green glasses, green shirt, white pants and blue and pink shoes. She is a classmate of Billy. She is also a victim of bullying, because in the episode "Billy bullies Judy / grounded" Billy wrote to her "kick my ass".
- Grandma has grey hair, pink shirt, blue pants and red shoes. She is the grandmother of the three children. In the episode "Billy misbehaves while Billy's Grandma babysits him" she punishes her grandson for watching South Park on Comedy Central, calling her old and throwing the food. She also died in a car accident in the episode "Billy disrespects his grandma's funeral".[8]
All of the characters are voiced by Kolin.
Controversies edit
In 2019, Kolin found out that a user called "Fluffy Dude New Era" copied the episode "Billy destroys the buildings" after Kolin deleted the original version for copyright.[9] He later submitted a copyright complaint to remove it.[10]
In February 2023, a YouTube fan called "MoldyGangstaHero" received a copyright strike over his song of one of his videos called "Yo-Crunch - Billy raps against a stranger and gets grounded OST".[11]
On June 22, 2023, YouTube age-restricted the episode "Billy acts up at the dentist" and "Billy drops the F-Bomb in the airport" for excessive vulgar language.[12]

Many fans loved the series, as there are many fan-made series. As of December 2023, there are 11K subscribers to Kolin's channel.
Fan-made reboot edit
In January 2021, a YouTube fan "Teal The Phineas and Ferb Fan" announced a fan-made reboot series, called "Billy Gets Grounded Continuation" that debuted on January 23, 2021.[7] The first episode is the continuation of the series finale, where Billy was sent to Phoenix, Arizona, and in the continuation he escapes the city, and goes back home. The fan considers it the show's seventeenth season, and called Onwards.[13]

These age restrictions happened on June 22 around 8PM. Additionally, on January 25 of this year, I had received a community guideline strike from one of my playlists. The playlist was called "Likes" and it was removed for violating YouTube's child safety policy. I had copied all of the videos from my original Liked videos playlist. I made this playlist since I disagree with YouTube setting everyone's Liked videos playlist from public to locked as private and wouldn't tell us why.
