Big Linux is a free and open-source Brazilian Linux distribution created and maintained by Bruno Gonçalves[1]. The first version was released on August 19, 2004, initially based on the Kubuntu distribution and using the DEB package manager. In 2017, the project underwent significant updates, changing the default desktop environment from KDE to Deepin[2]. In 2022, the project underwent a new update, transitioning to the Pacman and Flatpak package managers and adopting the KDE Plasma desktop environment, closely resembling the Manjaro distribution.
