Battle of Pereiaslav (1630) (otherwise - Tarasova Night) - defeat inflicted by the Ukrainian Cossacks during the uprising against the Poles on 20 May 1630 in the vicinity of the city of Pereiaslav, besieged by the Polish crown hetman Stanisław Koniecpolski.
The Zaporozhian hetman Taras Tryasilo, having gathered up to 30 thousand Cossacks, rushed to the rescue of the city and fortified himself in the camp between Trubizh and Alta. With the help of artillery Taras Tryasilo repelled almost daily attacks of Poles. The Polish feast of Corpus Christi came, during which the Poles made merry without taking precautions. At night the Cossacks crawled up to their camp and at dawn attacked it from two sides. The selected Guards "golden company" of the headquarters guard of 150 noble noblemen was completely annihilated.
In total, up to 300 people were killed, many Polish soldiers drowned in the river, and the rest fled. The entire transport and artillery of Polish hetman Stanisław Koniecpolski went to the Zaporozhian Cossacks.
