"Ark of Tomorrow: The End" is a real-time strategy game developed by MOUNTAIN CONTAUR, a subsidiary of Eagle Point Network, and is a game in the same series as "Ark of Tomorrow". The game is a free game with paid content.
On March 18, 2022, the game released a new concept trailer video and an initial live demo video.[1]
On October 26, 2023, the game announced its first technical test PV and announced that the first technical test will begin on November 10, 2023.[2]
On December 8, 2023, Ark of Tomorrow: The End announced that the game would be launched on the PS5 platform.
Plot setting
editThe game story takes place in a world called Talei II, where players will act as administrators of the protocol recycling department and gradually explore the development zone according to the guidelines. As the administrator of the protocol recycling department, players will lead professionals from the "Endgame Industry" to explore this world, conquer this land, recover lost technology, and explore the secrets buried under the desolate ruins. "Endgame Industry" is one of the famous technical contractors of Talei II, actively participating in the development of Talei II and establishing complete energy and technology production lines on wasteland is one of the key work goals of Endgame Industry at this stage. The protocol recycling department used to be the most important core department of the terminal industry, but a few years ago, an "accidental conflict" destroyed the central base of the protocol recycling department, resulting in the death of the department head and a large number of members, forcing the terminal industry to suspend technology recycling work.[4]
As the major forces of Talei II resumed exploring the ruins, the protocol recycling department supervised the reconstruction under the leadership of Perika. The Terminal Engineering Center has integrated a large number of prototype equipment from the Protocol Recycling Department and successfully developed an "Automated Integrated Industrial System". In order to prove the reliability of the system's transmission technology, the Protocol Recycling Department has chosen the "No. 4 Valley" in the development zone, which has the worst environment and the most scarce resources, as its target, and attempts to gradually explore outward based on this foundation.[4]
Due to the fact that this game is part of the same series as Ark of Tomorrow, most people believe that Ark of Tomorrow: The End will be a prequel or sequel to Ark of Tomorrow.[5]
Production and promotion
editOn March 10, 2022, Yingjiao Network opened an official account for "Ark of Tomorrow: The End" on social media. On March 18th, the new game "Ark of Tomorrow: The End" developed by Shanghai Yingjiao Network Technology Co., Ltd. released a concept trailer and a live demonstration.[2]
The concept trailer provides four types of voice acting: Chinese, English, Japanese, and Korean, and it is announced that Ark of Tomorrow: The End will be a real-time strategy role-playing game. As of the announcement, the game is still in the early development stage.[6]
Various voices
editAfter the game was released, GameRes Venture Capital website pointed out that it is unusual for Ark of Tomorrow to link real-time strategy games with role-playing games, and based on official information, it is still unclear what the gameplay of Ark of Tomorrow will take, but what is clear is that it is not very common. [7]GameRes also believes that "Ark of Tomorrow: The End" is a manifestation of Eagle Horn's accumulated network technology, indicating that the brand "Ark of Tomorrow" will take a new step forward. Grapevine also believes that the integration of real-time strategy and anime RPG is not easy to achieve, and it is uncertain whether the key base construction method of the game promotion can be played well. Such integration method may "not find competitive products" in mobile games.[7]
Golden Sheep website said, "Although" Ark of Tomorrow: The End "may seem like it, in fact it is not an open world, but a big box court map. When everyone is scrolling through the actions, special effects, mechanisms, and controls of battles, it actually weakens this part. And when many games on the market make their management elements very rough and weak, it also makes this part very distinctive and playable."[8]
