Aries Vismayas Max Entertainments Pvt. Ltd. (formerly Vismayas Max Studios) is a post-production studio headquartered in Thiruvananthapuram, Kerala, India. Founded by actor-producer Mohanlal in 2005, the studio was later acquired by BizTV Network, a division of the Aries Group of Companies, in 2014. Mohanlal continues to serve as its brand ambassador. Additionally, the studio has a branch in Kochi.

Vismayas Max Studios was the first DTS mixing studio in Kerala. In 2015, it became the first Dolby Atmos mixing studio in the state. The facility also houses a DaVinci Resolve DI Suite.

History edit

Mohanlal initially established Vismaya Max Audio, a recording studio, in Chennai, Tamil Nadu. It housed two studios named Prarthana and Pooja. In 2002, the studio underwent relocation to Kinfra Film and Video Park in Thiruvananthapuram, Kerala, following a joint venture with the Indian arm of the multimedia college School of Audio Engineering (SAE College). During this transition, an open-air facility for film production was set up in Thiruvananthapuram, with Access Atlantech Edutainment serving as their technology partner.[1]

Subsequently, in 2005, Mohanlal founded Vismayas Max Studios,[2] headquartered in Thiruvananthapuram with a branch in Kochi. It was the first DTS mixing studio in Kerala.[3] It remained the only DTS studio facility in Kerala until 2013.[4] In 2014, Vismayas Max Studios was taken over by the United Arab Emirates-based BizTV Network, a media company within the Aries Group of Companies owned by Sohan Roy. The studio was then rebranded as Aries Vismayas Max. Mohanlal continued as the brand ambassador.[3][5] Filmmaker B. Unnikrishnan was appointed as the managing director.[6]

In 2015, they opened the first Dolby Atmos mixing studio in Kerala.[7] In 2017, Aries Guinness Chundan, the longest steel-made snake boat, which entered the Limca Book of Records and Asian Book of Records was installed for display at the studio.[8] In 2020, Aries Vismayas Max became the first studio in the state to install the Wolf AirMask in their premise, that can ionize the air and prevent coronavirus without the need to use face masks.[9]
