Areej(Areig) Elhag is a Sudanese American journalist and TV presenter based in the Washington DC metro area. She earned an Executive Master's in International Relations, a program jointly offered by the Maxwell School and CSIS, and also holds both bachelor’s and master’s degrees in science from the Sudan University of Science & Technology. Additionally, Areig contributes to the Washington Institute, focusing her writing on Sudan and the MENA (Middle East and North Africa) region.

She worked in various international TV stations. She is currently with MBN. where she serves as a TV presenter for the Telly Award-winning show “Between Two Niles” and as a senior producer.

Throughout her career, Areig has conducted numerous interviews with key stakeholders in the region and Sudan.
