The A’s

Aardvark

-Aardvarks are small pig-like mammals that are found inhabiting a wide range of different habitats throughout Africa, south of the Sahara. They are mostly solitary and spend their days sleeping in underground burrows to protect themselves from the heat of the African sun, emerging in the cooler evening to search for food.Aardvark

Aardwolf

-The name aardwolf essentially means earth wolf in the Afrikaans and Dutch languages, but this is misleading because it’s not a wolf at all. Instead, it belongs to the hyena family, a fact which is fairly obvious from its appearance alone.

Abyssinian Guinea Pig

-Despite the name, guinea pigs are not pigs at all but a type of rodent. They are known for their uniquely rough, rosette-patterned fur and ability to make loud noises. These animals make spectacular house pets and are very friendly.

Acadian Flycatcher

-The Acadian flycatcher is a small passerine bird native to North and South America, where they inhabit wet riverside forests. They spend their days swiftly maneuvering through trees as they search for insects and small fruit.

Achrioptera manga

-Achrioptera manga is a species of phasmid, also known as stick insects. These insects camouflage themselves by looking like sticks and leaves. Like many related insects, they can regrow their limbs through regeneration.
