Andreas Geiger

Andreas Geiger (born September 11, 1982 in Kirchheim unter Teck) is a german computer scientist. He leads the Autonomous Vision Group at the University of Tübingen. He is also head of the department of computer science at the University of Tübingen.[1]

Scientific Career

From 2003 to 2008 he studied computer science and mathematics at Karlsruhe Institute of Technology, École Polytechnique Fédérale de Lausanne and Massachusetts Institute of Technology. In 2013 he received his doctoral degree Summa cum Laude at Karlsruhe Institute of Technology. From 2013 to 2016 he was a research scientist at Max Planck Institute for Intelligent Systems in Tübingen. From 2016 to 2018 he directed an independent Max Planck Research Group at the Max Planck Institute for Intelligent Systems while holding a position as assistant professor at ETH Zürich. In 2018 he moved to the University of Tübingen, holding a W3 professorship.

Geiger ist founding board member of the European Laboratory for Learning and Intelligent Systems (ELLIS) where he coordinates the pan-european ELLIS PhD und PostDoc Programm. According to Google Scholar (as of 2024) his work was cited over 65.000 times (H-index 90).
