Alter-Naratif is a 2023 Malaysian web television drama series directed by Faisal Ishak with an original idea by Aina Izzah and a script by Rafidah Abdullah, Honey Ahmad, Aina Izzah, Nik Jassmin Hew and Haris M. Nor. Starring Nabila Huda, Liyana Jasmay, Neera Azizi, Gambit Saifullah and Rahhim Omar, the series will premiere on the Viu streaming platform from May 25, 2023 until July 13, 2023 with new episodes airing every Thursday.[1][2][3]
Synopsis edit
Electric Dust Agency, a company known for its innovation in memory alteration – the ability to erase memories and replace them with artificial memories. Its CEO, Mel Isa, champions this new technology as the future of psychotherapy, helping trauma victims rebuild their lives. But when Mel starts blacking out and hallucinating, she begins to suspect that her own memories have been manipulated. Her investigation has led to the revelation of her own company's corruption and revived a crime that took place 20 years ago. [4]

Alter-Naratif was announced as one of the 5 Viu Originals series for 2023 in a press conference on December 1, 2022. It was the original idea of Aina Izzah, a law graduate and journalist who was also the winner of Viu Pitching Forum 2021.[11][12]
According to its director, Faisal Ishak, although this drama has a psychological thriller theme, the core is still about family and humanity in its story. He said: "...as a new experiment, we bring a Malay drama in the science fiction genre. Many people now choose to watch this genre of drama. Although this Alter-Naratif is a psychological thriller genre, the core is still about family and humanity in the narrator,".[4]
