Draft:Alex Lee Ratner

Alex Lee Ratner (born October 22, 1993) is an American singer-songwriter from Richmond, Virginia. Formerly of Richmond-based punk rock band Monacan Hill (2012-2014), Ratner has performed solo under his name since the band's break-up in 2014, performing much of the band's material which he wrote as well as newer material.

After a five-year hiatus, Ratner returned to performing live in February 2022 and eventually released his debut album The Art of Self-Sacrifice in June that same year. Later that year, he released his second studio album I'm Tired of Talking To The Dead. In January 2023, Ratner released his third album Leaving Las Vegas... Arriving In Richmond, which featured one of his best known songs "Psycho Games." That October, he released his fourth album DWI Blues. Ratner is currently working on his fifth studio album Goodbyes and Getaways, of which he has released the singles "Good Thing," "A Beautiful Life" and the title track.

Known for his energetic stage presence and songwriting, Ratner's inspirations have spanned a wide range of genres, notably in rock music. He cites Bob Dylan as his favorite artist of all time, as well as Taylor Swift for bringing the thrill of music back to the modern age. Ratner has also drawn inspiration from The Rolling Stones, The Beatles, The Who, The Ramones, The Sex Pistols and Green Day, all major rock acts whom he says inspired him to not hold back when it comes to being on stage.
