Alassane Gregoire Diarra (born January 4, 1991) otherwise known as Alassane, is an Canadian-born singer, songwriter and multi-instrumentalist.

Biography

Alassane was born in Montreal, Quebec. His father is a Malian born musician who comes from a lineage of musicians and practitioners. After moving to Phoenix, Arizona at an early age, Alassane began getting involved in music and songwriting. He grew up playing and attending different schools with a focus on music and art; including The New School for the Arts and Academics and Arizona State University where he studied under jazz professor Michael Kocour. After dropping out of college, Alassane committed to playing music professionally full-time.

From 2018 through 2019, he was the touring keyboardist and background vocalist for singer/songwriter Courtney Marie Andrews.

He released his first solo EP entitled 'yield' in early 2020.[1] Shortly thereafter, he began a collaborative project with Rachel Eckroth and Tim Lefebvre. They released the single 'Moot Points' in early 2021.[2]

In 2021, he toured with Jenny Lewis on her opening tour with Harry Styles.[3]
