The song parodies Addicted to Love by Robert Palmer[1] in which the narrator talks about someone’s love for Potatoes.
Live performance edit
The song was performed in the MTV New Year’s party concert in 1987. During the performance, the members of Al’s band (minus Al) were wearing potato costumes.[2]
