ANUnaran Jargalsaikhan is a multidisciplinary artist hailing from Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia. Her diverse body of work spans mixed media painting, performance art, video performance, and installation art.

Education edit

ANUnaran holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from the Institute of Fine Arts at the Mongolian State University of Arts and Culture (MNUAC). She furthered her academic pursuits with a Master's degree in Art History from the National University of Mongolia (NUM). Currently, she is engaged in a Doctorate in Art Criticism at NUM.

Artistic Style and Techniques edit

ANUnaran`s artistic evolution is marked by a profound exploration of the concealed aspects of universal dualisms, delving into themes such as feminine and masculine, interior and exterior, subconscious and conscious, and metaphysical and physical. ANUnaran employs a unique blend of techniques, including embroidery, sewing, appliqué, and photo-based work. Her artworks incorporate a wide array of materials such as fabric, pens, thread, acrylic, oil, printing, and felt. The inspiration for her creations draws heavily from Mongolian ancient perceptions of NAGA, NATURE-EARTH, and Buddhism, weaving together a rich tapestry of cultural influences.

Professional Career edit

ANUnaran serves as the Artistic Director at Blue Sun, CACM. Her artistic contributions have gained international recognition, with exhibitions in Biennials held in Taiwan and Spain. Notably, she clinched the first place in the Golden Brush International Art Competition in Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia in 2018. Her accolades extend to international competitions, including the Special Prize in the 51st Japan Fashion Design Contest in Tokyo, Japan (2013), Finalist in the International Print Biennial R.O.C in Taichung, Taiwan (2022), and the Environmental Dance Prize in the 3rd International Eco Performance Film Festival in Sao Paulo, Brazil (2023).

Curatorial Work edit

Beyond her individual artistic pursuits, Jargalsaikhan has made significant contributions as a curator. She curated notable events such as "ZUUN ART" at Blue Sun CACM, Zuunkharaa, Mongolia (2022 & 2023), D. Dorjderem’s solo exhibition "Datum in the Space" at UMA’s Art Gallery, Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia (2023), Co-Curator, the Best of Blue Sun 20 years, Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia (2022) and Co-Curator, Spirit of Gobi, Contemporary and Electronic Music Festival, Umnugobi, Mongolia (2022).

ANUnaran has held solo exhibitions in prestigious venues across Korea, Russia, and Mongolia, including the National Gallery of Modern Art and The Fine Arts Zanabazar Museum in Ulaanbaatar, as well as the Gallery of V.Bronshteyn in Irkutsk, Russia.
