AJPM Focus is a bi-monthly peer-reviewed, fully (gold) open access medical journal that publishes articles (online) in the areas of preventive medicine, public health, and population health research, teaching, practice and policy across the global spectrum of health. The journal publishes original research, review, and editorial papers based on quantitative, qualitative, or mixed methodologies, including experimental, observational, and descriptive studies, as well as pilot data analyses, and studies with preliminary, negative, or null results. The journal also welcomes a variety of scholarly papers that do not meet the definition of research, such as policy analyses, implementation and translational science studies, quality improvement, and program evaluation reports. The journal's motto of "inclusivity in people, methods, and outcomes" is a guiding principle at the heart of the journal's strategy and operations.[1] AJPM Focus is a companion journal of the American Journal of Preventive Medicine.
History

It is the official fully open access journal of the Association for Prevention Teaching and Research[2] and the American College of Preventive Medicine.[3] The journal is overseen by a standing Governing Board composed of 9 members appointed equally by APTR and ACPM. The current editor-in-chief is Yuri T. Jadotte (Stony Brook University).[4] The journal is published by Elsevier.
