Draft:2024 San Francisco arson of Black family's house

On May 21, 2024, the Williams family were a target of an arson attack that occurred shortly before 11:30 a.m. in San Francisco's Alamo Square district. An older man and woman, Luddie and Carolyn, ages 79 and 81, were injured; firefighters rescued the pair. The incident came two weeks after racist mail was found sent the house. The victims were African-Americans, and therefore due to the nature of the mail sent, police are probing an investigation of the crime as being a hate crime. There have been no arrests made as of May 29.[1][2]
