On July 19, 2024, a software update issued by cybersecurity services provider CrowdStrike resulted in major worldwide outages to computer infrastructure.[1] The update, which affected Microsoft Windows systems, caused blue screens of death and resulted in service disruptions to banks, airlines, airports, media outlets, and other services.[2]
