The 2024–25 season will be the 138th in the history of Manchester United, potentially their 33rd season in the Premier League and their 50th consecutive season in the top flight of English football. The club will be participating in the FA Cup and the EFL Cup.

Jonny Evans could be the only player left in the squad that was managed by Sir Alex Ferguson, but it is still yet to be confirmed as to whether United will extend the 36-year-old's contract.

Pre-season and friendlies

On 23 February 2024, Manchester United announced fixtures against Arsenal and Liverpool in Los Angeles and South Carolina, which would be played on 27 July and 3 August respectively.[1] They also leaked a fixture that would be played in July with an unknown opponent and venue. This game would later be confirmed on 12 March as a game against Real Betis in San Diego.[2]. Later, on 20 March, they announced a trip to Scotland to play Rangers.[3] Two and a half weeks later, United announced that their first fixture of the summer would be a trip to Norway to play Rosenborg for the first ever time.

Premier League

United confirmed their survival in the Premier League on 31 March 2024 with a draw to Brentford. 5 other teams had also confirmed their survival by then, Arsenal, Aston Villa, Liverpool, Manchester City and Tottenham Hotspur. 3 days later, Newcastle United and West Ham United booked their place in the 2024–25 Premier League.

FA Cup
