edit- In 1960, Bill Yoast was hired as the head coach of Francis C. Hammond High School. He spent 10 seasons with the Admirals, winning the 1969 Virginia 3A Regional Championship in the process. In 1971, Yoast was hired as the defensive coordinator of the Titans.
- In 1969, Herman Boone, an African American, was hired as the school's physical education teacher, assistant football coach, and junior varsity wrestling coach. At the start of the 1971 season, Boone was promoted to the head coaching position.
