In November 2022, Jennifer Lawrence confirmed she would star in an adaptation of Ariana Harwicz's novel Die, My Love with Lynne Ramsay directing from a screenplay she co-wrote with playwright Enda Walsh.[3] In July 2024, Robert Pattinson was in talks to join the film, produced by Martin Scorsese and Andrea Calderwell alongside the Excellent Cadaver team of Lawrence and Justine Ciarrocchi.[4] In April, Ramsay said she was writing music with George Vjestica, for which Lawrence may sing.[5] In August, LaKeith Stanfield joined the cast.[6]

Principal photography began on August 19, 2024 in Calgary,[7] with Seamus McGarvey serving as the cinematographer for the film, which was shot in 35mm and 1.33:1 Academy ratio, taking inspirations from Roman Polanski's Repulsion (1965) and Rosemary's Baby (1968).[8][2]
