Council of Asian Science Editors

The Council of Asian Science Editors (CASE) is a non-profit organization established in 2014, dedicated to improving the quality of scientific academic journals published in Asia. It facilitates cross-border learning programs and supports Asian journal country associations in implementing international editorial and publishing practices.[3][4]

CASE aims to contribute to the development of science by enhancing the quality of scientific journals across Asia. It organizes global conferences, webinars, and workshops to provide the latest information on journal publication practices, promoting collaboration among Asian editors and global experts[5][6].

History

On July 2, 2014, the inaugural assembly of the Council of Asian Science Editors (CASE) was held in Seoul. Over 140 science editors from 10 Asian countries attended the meeting and expressed their enthusiastic support for the establishment of the CASE. That day marked the 1st Asian Science Editors’ Conference & Workshop and the establishment of the Council of Asian Science Editors (CASE).[7]

Membership

CASE has over 500 members, including journal editors, publishers, and academic professionals. Membership benefits include access to CASE resources, networking opportunities, and participation in CASE events.[8]

Activities

CASE's activities include organizing annual conferences, such as the Asian Science Editors’ Conference and Workshop, which provides a platform for networking, sharing experiences, and learning about best practices in scientific publishing. These events feature a mix of offline and online formats to maximize participation and impact.
