Early life
editLombino grew up in Harlem, New York, as the son of a mobster.[7] Lombino's family moved to Encino, Los Angeles after her father was affiliated with the 1978 Lufthansa heist.[8][9]
Career
editIn the 1980s, Lombino began working as a stylist at a clothing store on Melrose Avenue in Los Angeles, California.[10] The store was frequented by celebrities such as Madonna.[11][12] Lombino also worked as a drag queen on Santa Monica Boulevard alongside RuPaul.[13] In 2010, Lombino opened her own boutique, Cosmo's Glamsquad, on Melrose Avenue. She has since opened two additional boutiques on the same street: Cosmo & Donato, and Shoe Whore.[14] The three boutiques have earned her the nickname Queen of Melrose.[2]
In March 2024, Lombino was featured in an interview by photographer Mark Laita on his YouTube channel Soft White Underbelly. A clip from the interview went viral on social media later that month, with many people using the clip as a reaction meme or lightheartedly comparing the clip to how someone might overshare in an inappropriate situation.[15] A clip of Lombino complaining about security at Madonna's Celebration tour also went viral that March. Lombino has embraced her internet popularity, appearing in a number of interviews and podcasts to talk about her life as well as expressing interest in appearing on reality television.[16]
In 2024, Lombino appeared as a guest on the Very Delta podcast,[17] as well as Grindr "Who's The Asshole?" podcast.[18]
Personal life
editLombino identifies as a gay man, but prefers she/her pronouns.[19][3] She is also comfortable with he/him and they/them pronouns.[3] She has an identical twin brother named Joseph Lambino.[20] Lombino has been compared to reality television personality Big Ang.[2]
