Club Deportivo Los Chankas

Los Chankas CYC (known as Cultural Santa Rosa until 2021) is a professional Peruvian football club, located in the city of Andahuaylas, Apurímac, Peru. The club currently participates in the Peruvian Primera División (Liga 1).

Copa Peru edit

Los Chankas was founded in 1989 under the name Club Deportivo Cultural Santa Rosa, after the Peruvian saint Santa Rosa de Lima. The club participated in the Copa Perú until they classified for the 2016 Liga 2 where they remained until 2023.

In the 2010 Copa Perú, the club classified to Regional Stage but was eliminated by Alianza Unicachi.

In the 2011 Copa Perú, the club classified to Regional Stage but was eliminated by Franciscano San Román and José María Arguedas.

In the 2013 Copa Perú, the club classified to Regional Stage but was eliminated by Franciscano San Román and Fuerza Minera.

In the 2015 Copa Perú, the club classified to National Stage but was eliminated by Sport Ancash in the Round of 16.

Segunda División edit

On August 19, 2021, Cultural Santa Rosa changed its name to Los Chankas - CYC. The letters CYC are the initials of late club president Clodoaldo Yñigo Condori who died as a result of complications from COVID-19 in the midst of the COVID-19 pandemic in Peru.

On October 27, 2023, Los Chankas gained promotion to Liga 1 for the first time in their history after beating Alianza Universidad on penalties. Los Chankas became the first team from the Apurímac region to play in the Peruvian First Division.

Stadium edit

Los Chankas play their home games at Estadio Municipal Los Chankas. The stadium has a capacity of 10,000.
