Chekuthante Kotta is a 1967 Indian Malayalam-language horror thriller film, directed and produced by M. M. Nesan. The film stars Sathyan, Madhu, P. J. Antony and Sankaradi. The film had musical score by B. A. Chidambaranath.[1][2]

An old bungalow in the forest of High Range, known as the Devil's Fort..even during the day no one goes to that area. It is said that the spirit of a girl who died long ago is still there, In midnight , hear many noises, a woman's singing and a moving skeleton..Local people tell these l about this bungalow.. Two people from the town come there to investigate the mysteries surrounding this fort.. Lawrence (Sathyan) and Bhaskaran (PJ Anthony). Lawrence turned himself into a singer while enjoying the natural beauty of the place and driving through the hills in a jeep.Lawrence and Bhaskaran reached the bungalow, which had been empty for many years, and walked around to observe the surroundings.. When they came back to the front of the bungalow, they both saw that their bags and other things were on fire.. Both of them entered the dusty and bat-filled bungalow. The two of them swept and cleaned a room That night, That night , they heard a song of a woman from distance.Searching for the source of the song, Lawrence and Bhaskaran walked around the bungalow, the devil's fort.Suddenly , a skeleton rushed towards them and disappeared .Bhaskaran opined that it is not wise to stay in that fort. Things are worse than expected. But Lawrence was unmoved. Lawrence argued that ghosts do not exist in this century, and that they are mere human quirks. Not only that, Lawrence also invited his other friends to join this adventure. His friends Venugopalan (Madhu), Iqbal (SP Pillai) and Sankaran (Shankarati) immediately reached the fort as requested by Lawrence. Along with a cook (Bahadur). Lawrence said that there was no ghost in the castle, but everyone was very scared inside. Especially the cook.Venu is also a good guitarist. Venu always has a guitar with him.Lawrence knew that a band of robbers was encamped in that forest. Lawrence argues that the bandits and the haunting of this castle are one and the same. Those who were with Lawrence argued that it was both.. Bhaskaran is also of the opinion that there is more truth in what Lawrence is saying.One day Lawrence heard another song . After hearing that song, Lawrence finally came to a beautiful young woman.. The first woman Lawrence saw after coming to the forest.. Yamuna (Ambika), the daughter of the forest elder Ponnan (Muthukulam Raghavan Pillai). At first sight,Lawrence fallen for Yamuna. Local people surprised to find that five men were still alive in devil's fort . Lawrence started cleaning the place with the help of some brave local workers. Bhaskaran supervised.Meanwhile, Yamuna and Lawrence's exchanged their hearts.Bhaskaran, who had just finished his routine flirtation with Yamuna, met Lawrence. When Bhaskaran informed about the fact that he had gone to Ponnan, Bhaskaran was shocked. Everything came to know from them that the presence of a madman who came from somewhere and is in the forest.. Ponnan has someone else Lawrence caught the gang leader who was a terrorist.. It was Ponnan himself.. By that time the police party reached there. Ponnan's alter ego (JR Anand) was also caught by Lawrence by then. It was another person who often cheated people by dressing up as a goldsmith.
