'Vecchio' is male only, miscategorization
editVecchio literally means "old man," and is an exclusively male class of charecters. Therefore this seems a miscategorization.--Sum (talk) 13:02, 26 August 2010 (UTC)
- It's not clear what part of the linked article changes you consider to be inappropriate. Are you suggesting that, because "vecchio" is gender-specific, vecchio characters don't belong in Category:Commedia dell'arte characters ? Or that they don't belong under the major listing of catmore|Commedia dell'arte ? Either way, I disagree. Male Commedia dell'arte characters are a subset of Commedia dell'arte characters, and the listing at Commedia dell'arte characters should show all characters, not just ambiguously-gendered ones. To put it another way, it costs little to keep vecchio listed in both lists.
- Or do you mean something entirely different? Joe Marfice (talk) 01:40, 30 August 2010 (UTC)
- I mean having Vecchio only under Male Commedia dell'arte characters. Saying that the "listing at Commedia dell'arte characters should show all characters" doesn't make much sense to me; if this was the case (that every category should also list all the articles of the subcategories), lists would explode and categorization would be a pointless mess. My impression is that you're not yet familiar with categorization on wikipedia.--Sum (talk) 16:12, 5 October 2010 (UTC)
