The category page redlinks Vaipulya sutra. I've just spent a couple of hours surfing Google scholar, but I couldn't find enough to justify an article. "Vaipulya sutra" seems to be a synonym for "Mahayana sutra" that was used at a certain period of history; everyone agrees that "vaipulya" means something like "extensive", but I couldn't find any scholars willing to give a reason why "extensiveness" became a virtue, demarcate the period of history during which this virtue was cultivated, or say anything other than that Vaipulya sutra is a synonym for Mahayana sutra. I'm writing this note so others don't waste their time. Vagabond nanoda (talk) 05:50, 15 May 2020 (UTC)Reply
