Category talk:Universities in the United Kingdom

Does this category really need to be subdivided into four? There are so few universities outside of England (Scotland has just 13, Wales 3 and Northern Ireland 2) that it seems silly bother subdividing them. Furthermore, there's no need to make such artifical distinctions between the UK's four nations. They're all in the same country, all applied to through UCAS and some cross borders (the OU, for example). Put them all into British (which means relating to the United Kingdom, by the way) universities, I say.

There are some very clear distinctions between the education systems - for example the Scottish tradition of the four year undergraduate degree and granting of "Masters" for instance. I say keep the list as it is. Timrollpickering 09:01, 29 Aug 2004 (UTC)
