• I do not think this is straightforward. There are a few other articles that do include "Yangtze River" in the name, e.g. Bridges and tunnels across the Yangtze River and Yangtze River Delta. Also, one of the other sub-cats of that parent is Category:Bridges over the Yangtze River, of which most of the contents have the name "[Foo] Yangtze River Bridge", so changing that category to "Bridges over the Yangtze" would match the contents less well. So, it is probably worth having a full discussion on this set of categories. – Fayenatic London 21:37, 30 June 2017 (UTC)

• Oppose - Category:Tributaries of the Yangtze River is a valid category and is not the same thing as the Yangtze River or Tributaries of the Yangtze. Undoubtedly there are other entities named Yangtze. All three categories mean different things and should remain and not be merged to facilitate the use of the categories and finding aids for readers. @Barbara (WVS):, you are mistaken. The proposal is not to merge the categories, but a simple rename from Category:Tributaries of the Yangtze River to Category:Tributaries of the Yangtze, to match the article title Yangtze. -Zanhe (talk) 18:46, 9 July 2017 (UTC)
