editI've not responded to this before to see if anyone would add any discussions about this:

It's fairly obvious that whoever added this knows little about the field of Sociology. The category page itself gives a good definition of social problems. Studies in this area are not done on one individual's whim. It is an actual area of research and teaching.
I will leave this open for discussion for 30 more days before removing the contention tag. Meclee (talk) 09:39, 7 January 2014 (UTC)
