Category and BLP policy edit

First, a lot of this discussion came up because I was itching to put a bunch of guys with WP:RS calling them sexist in here, but knew I'd never get away with it, though it does happen in other similar categories, so I was trying to level the playing field. Right now there really aren't any violations. However, a category of activists vs. sexism could be created to make sure they get their positive due.

As I've put on other bigotry-related category pages: Wikipedia:BLP#Categories.2C_lists_and_navigation_templates is clearly against listing people in this type of category. Note that this note from Category:Homophobia may be promoted to antibigotry categories. This category is for issues relating to homophobia. It must not include articles about individuals, groups or media that are allegedly homophobic. CarolMooreDC (talk) 16:02, 31 August 2010 (UTC)Reply

modern perspective on old custom edit

It is said that a modern perspective cannot be used to categorize a historical custom into Sexism. Is that the consensus for the Sexism category? I didn't see it stated on the category page (I can't access it now through a public library's WiFi but it wasn't on the page the other day). Nick Levinson (talk) 18:14, 11 September 2011 (UTC)Reply

pinup girls edit

(I titled this and made it a subsection; it may have been intended as an answer or as an entirely new section, likelier the latter, and it may qualify for deletion altogether as it appears not to be about improving the category or the category page but I authored the original post of the section of which I made this part and so I might have a conflict of interest in editing the section. I think that the whole thing about Barbie girls and bombshell pinup girls being sexist is complete crap because women have a right to beautifty themselves and promote themselves to make money and no is being mistreated here and I do not think that it is sexism to see a pninup girl or whatever, because it promotes beauty and it sells a woman to audiences and it shows herself off and it is part of the attractive beauty thing culture, which is part of Western culture and if you think it is sexist, then you are dead wrong. This is edited by far-left feminist anti-male disgusting people on this site, that hate women who beautify themselves and do pinups to make a living here, people. I am sick of the radical feminist BS here and I wish that it would stop. Misandry is not sexist either, it's just sexist against men, which is also wrong as well. I am sick of the anti-patriarcy male hate on the site and I wish that it would stop and women have a right to express themselves as they want to, pinups are not sexist, I am sick of these egotistical power trips by overly-emotional editors that amount to no more than witch hunts against men and sexism to promote a militant cause that I do not like that is against men and everything normal and gender roles in society, that have been around for over several thousand years and they are not going to change overnight because of your idiotic misguided, male-hating activism. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 108.11.158.220 (talk) 02:41, 22 February 2012 (UTC)Reply
