LOTR? Conan?

edit

Personally, I kinda bristle at including Lord of the Rings in this category, as it's commonly considered an archetype of "high fantasy" (i.e. exists in its own world). I understand Tolkien invited the implication that it was Earth at another time, but the series really doesn't have anything in common with this list of cave man fiction.

That said, as long we're already reaching as far as Tolkien, the work of Robert Howard probably belongs in this this list as Conan's world is described as antedeluvian Earth. It's also more on theme with the savage pre-history and bronze age fiction than Tolkien's early medieval, Celtic Iron Age world. Just my two cents. 24.251.106.103 (talk) 21:58, 13 September 2021 (UTC)Reply

Nevermind, I see Conan is included as a sub-category, I was just looking at the actual pages. That said, consider this still a vote against included Tolkien. 24.251.106.103 (talk) 22:01, 13 September 2021 (UTC)Reply
