I propose this category be moved to Category:Mountains and hills of Ulster, an older (and less confusing) geographical unit.

Quite wrong. Ulster is much more confusing than NI. Also NI fit onto both UK and Ireland categories, Ulster is not part of the UK in entirety. Grinner 09:45, 18 October 2005 (UTC)Reply

Perhaps your compass points in a different direction to mine. If I saw Category:Mountains and hills of Northern England, I wouldn't expect to find a category that counted those in a small area around Newcastle, and ignored the Peak District. The term "Northern Ireland" is inherently confusing, by virtue of its flat-out inaccuracy. I chose Ulster as it would require the least change. Alternatively, we could add the mountains and hills in the north of the Republic.

The term Northern Ireland is clearly defined, refer to an area that is polictically part of the UK, but geographically part of Ireland. Hence this category fits into both "Mountains of Ireland" and "Mountains and Hills of the UK". If you would like to create a larger "Mountains and Hills of Ulster" category then this category could be a subcat of that, whilst remaining also in the UK category. I'll create that category, and ones for the other provinces. I would like to see the title of this category amended to avoid confusion with "northern" Ireland, though. Perhaps by adding "United Kingdom" in brackets?

Categories for all the Provinces is definately a good idea. I really don't think there is much confusion about what Northern Ireland is , but I shall re-write the note in the category heading in order to make it explicit. Grinner 10:08, 21 October 2005 (UTC)Reply
