My reading has led me to conclude that the axis of rotation of the moon is approximately 16 degrees different from the axis of rotation of the earth. Therefore, the North Star for the moon cannot be Polaris; only a star about 16 degrees from Polaris would be a possible candidate for this designation. Is there an identified pole star for the moon? What are the implications of the moon’s much lesser inclination from the ecliptic, in comparison to Earth’s inclination of ~23.3 degrees? Janice Vian, Ph.D. (talk) 19:33, 12 July 2019 (UTC)Reply
