For expediency I say we go with something I proposed that had some support in that discussion. If this isn't suitable, we can also re-CFD the new scheme, or the parts that are in contention. Keep everything sub-monthly, then do frequency groups after that

Yeah - there's definitely a need to group these journals together in broader categories. I'd suggest also including a ‹The template Category link is being considered for merging.› Category:Journals published between 7 and 12 times per year (with ‹The template Category link is being considered for merging.› Category:Monthly journals‎ as a subcat. I'd similarly tweak the others to 13-26 and 27-52, with subcats. NB: it should be either "published between X and Y times" or "published X to Y times", not "published between X to Y times"! It is an acceptable initial step that I support, and what's more I feel this category tree has significant room for trimming in future discussions. I also feel that it is highly unlikely to be a defining characteristic of a journal to be published an unusual amount of times (eg 51, or 17). These might be better categorised as relating to the reason for being published 17 times (if there is such a reason), or (if it is considered absolutely necessary) categorising journals that intentially miss a week (eg relating to new year or Christmas or etc. season under the primary structure, eg as weekly or monthly rather than "51 times a year" or "11 times a year, these are really not defining characteristics. Per all the arguments I made at the earlier discussion I'd prefer us not to use any "bi-" or "tri-" prefixes. We know that editors get them confused: we can guess that readers are on average more confused. See the quote from Fowler, and the Guardian style guide. So, if we are to keep any of these categories, I would amend the above proposal to:

Yes that is your preference, which has never gained any traction with anyone, and which goes against standard practices in library sciences. The goal here is expediency. There is no consensus to use the oddly-worded category "Journals published between 27 to 51 times per year". There may be a consensus to use either the category "Journals published between 27 and 51 times per year" (as per comment by Grutness above) or "Journals published 27 to 51 times per year".
