This category is in Category:Wikipedia categories named after British people. However as the identity of Jack the Ripper is unknown (and indeed there is debate about whether all of the killings attributed to 'Jack the Ripper' were the work of one person) is this really appropriate? Several non-British candidates have been put forward (with varying degrees of credibility, for instance the Irish/American Francis Tumblety, Polish-born candidates like Aaron Kosminski and Joseph Silver and the Russian Michael Ostrog. So while it is entirely possible the Ripper could have been British it is by no means certain that this was the case. Dunarc (talk) 20:58, 17 December 2017 (UTC)Reply
