General Consensus re WP:NAME, Names of Articles Across Project

edit

A glace at this category page clearly indicates the naming convention for initiatives, referenda and similar measures is State + Measure Type + Designator + (Year of Filing in Parenthesis). This seems to be a sound convention because it provides maximum amount of information consistently across multiple states and years, whether a jurisdiction re-uses a measure designator or not. Oregon might have a dozen variations of Measure 8 across the years, for example, whilst Washington might have only a single Initiative 502, but both are clearly indicated. As there are multiple occurrences for a single issue such as charter schools or tax reform across time for a given state, the parenthetic year title quickly conveys that as well. Where is the appropriate place to confirm or establish a consistent naming convention in keeping with WP:AT, Wikipedia:Article titles. Rorybowman (talk) 22:19, 9 December 2012 (UTC)Reply
