Why?
editWhy does this category exist? It appears to be a duplicate of Category:Extinct Native American tribes, except it's more problematic. A tribe is also a political unit; while a "people" is more vague. Many tribes were subsumed into other tribes, so they absolutely having living descendants but are no longer exist as a tribe. Arguing that a group is extinct as a people is far more challenging and open to legitimate debate. Yuchitown (talk) 15:56, 7 February 2023 (UTC)Yuchitown
