Not sure about Francis Bacon being here. He was Irish, not English. Is the article linking to the wrong Bacon? 86.151.130.250 23:33, 25 July 2007 (UTC)Reply

What about John Lennon? edit

Wasn't John Lennon an atheist, too? His songs God and Imagine seem to indicate this, don't they? — Preceding unsigned comment added by 87.78.19.194 (talk) 00:36, 5 June 2012 (UTC)Reply

The bulk of evidence points to Lennon’s religious views being closest to someone who was critical of organized religion, but interested in spirituality. (See the article “religious beliefs of the Beatles.”) He leaned toward being an agnostic in the 60’s, but categorizing him as an atheist based on a couple song quotations is deceptive. In fact, he had one song in 1973 with the line “Every day I thank the Lord and Lady for the way that you came to me.” He was also quoted as saying “I'm not afraid of death because I don't believe in it. It's just getting out of one car, and into another.” I’m removing him from this category. If there are any objections, let me know. Tidewater 2014 (talk) 14:53, 17 July 2015 (UTC)Reply

What's the goal of this page? edit

Is it to "out" Atheists? I can't imagine any other reason to make a collection of people by their (or in this case their lack of) religion. I see no value or purpose in this list. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 93.104.7.255 (talk) 12:47, 2 May 2013 (UTC)Reply
