I don't think "Traction Motor" should be a subcategory of "Electric Motors". As I understand it a traction motor is a traction motor because of its application, not because of any intrinsic characteristic of the motor. To call a motor a traction motor is to describe how that motor is used in a particular implementation on a particular machine, the phrase traction motor does not necessarily describe the motor itself.
