"Cuban artists" checklist

edit

During the Summer and Fall of 2007, Single-purpose account ArleArt (talk · contribs) created over 150 articles to populate the Category:Cuban contemporary artists (which they also created) ... this became the subject of a WP:COI/N discussion, where the Consensus was that (a) they all contained the same linkspam URL, and (b) a bot removed the external links from 147 articles that were in the category ... User:ArleArt never responded, and has been MIA since December, 2007.

Since then, many of the articles have been deleted, either through A7 speedy delete, dated {{Prod}} or WP:AFD ... as it turns out, a lot of these articles are clones of articles from the Spanish Wikipedia (also created by the same WP:SPA, sometimes the very same day), containing the same spam links ... many of them have also been either reverted or deleted as non-notable.

This "checklist" is for managing the 117 remaining articles as of 20:49, 2 February 2008 (UTC) ... since User:ArleArt did not use {{DEFAULTSORT:}}, they are hopelessly unalphabetized, e.g., I don't know if Carlos Rafael Uribazo Garrido belongs under "G" or "U" (Spanish names can be tricky), but it certainly does not belong under "C".

I used {{la}} so that the red talk links would show which ones have not been "touched" yet ... Happy Editing! —72.75.72.63 (talk · contribs) 20:49, 2 February 2008 (UTC)Reply

Instructions

edit
  • Articles without a redlink for their talk page may already have a {{Prod}} or {{Afd}} tag placed on them by Some Other Editor.
    • Please add the date of a PROD or an AFD, and use strikeout when you decline a PROD.
  • Articles flagged with "†" appear to be cloned translations of the Spanish Wikipedia.
  • Articles flagged with "‡" have had a {{Prod-2}} added, meaning that Some Other Editor thinks that the article should be deleted.

BTW, José Villa Soberón (edit | talk | history | protect | delete | links | watch | logs | views) is an example of an article with Very Good WP:RS to WP:V the WP:N of the subject ... it just needs some cleanups. :-) —72.75.72.63 (talk) 05:26, 5 February 2008 (UTC)Reply

"Cleanup needed" boilerplate

"Articleissues" boilerplate

edit

I use this boilerplate to add {{Articleissues}} and {{Cuba-bio-stub}} on an article's main page. —72.75.72.63 (talk) 17:34, 5 February 2008 (UTC)Reply

"PROD declined" boilerplate

edit

I'm using the following boilerplate until Template:Old prod full is completed. — 72.75.72.63 (talk) 14:15, 8 February 2008 (UTC)Reply

Well, I finished {{Old prod full}}, which defaults like this:

{{Old prod full| nom = | nomdate = {{subst:CurrentYYYYMMDD}} | nomreason = | 2nd = | 2nddate = {{subst:CurrentYYYYMMDD}} | 2ndreason = | decline = | declinedate = {{subst:CurrentYYYYMMDD}} | declinereason = }}

It was Much Easier than I thought it would be. :-) — 72.75.72.63 (talk) 03:57, 11 February 2008 (UTC)Reply

"Cuban artists" checklist

edit

OK, none of these editors

have contributed to this "Cuban artists" checklist (although there have been limited dialogs on some talk pages) ... some of them either initiated or declined PRODs, and I have asked them politely to record their actions on the checklist (like renaming/merging articles) … I mean, declining a seconded PROD without even an edit summary? What's up with that?

Well, I'm sick of playing Sisyphus and cleaning up after them, so I have deleted these articles from my watchlist, and Some Other Editor can maintain/update it … or not.

In any event, it is time for me to MOVE ON. :-)

Stage Five

edit

As part of the postmortem before I evaporate from this (aborted) Project, I'm going to copy this sandbox checklist to Category talk:Cuban contemporary artists/Checklist, and flag a few of the "untouched" articles with the "Cleanup needed" boilerplate and "Articleissues" boilerplate just to make sure that they work correctly. —72.75.72.63 (talk) 22:09, 6 February 2008 (UTC)Reply

I created a {{Oldprodfull}} template, and I am going through this checklist to flag declined PRODs on talk pages ... see Talk:Carlos Rafael Uribazo Garrido as an example ... Happy Editing! — 72.75.72.63 (talk) 16:59, 10 February 2008 (UTC)Reply

ArleArt has returned

edit

It appears that the WP:LINKSPAM has returned ... 200.55.139.212 (talk · contribs) and Reinadesaba (talk · contribs) are adding the same link removed by a bot after Wikipedia:Conflict of interest/Noticeboard/Archive 20#Category:Cuban contemporary artists from back in December ... they have both been blocked as a result of Wikipedia:Administrators' noticeboard/IncidentArchive383#Cuban artist mass linkspam.
